Songs of The Body

12th - 13th November
Songs of The Body

When the body is at ease it is animated and sings with vibrancy and spirit. When the body experiences discomfort or pain it can become lethargic, dull, rigid and inflexible. This could be the result of a culmination of things, for example: lifestyle, diet, injury, grief, stress etc. Through the beautiful art of yoga therapy, we shall explore some of the most common physical complaints (back and neck pain, knee injuries and arthritis) as a means to stabalise and reduce the condition/s. You will learn to support your own health and healing to facilitate your essential essence.

Topics Explored

Back pain, neck pain, knee injuries, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Modifying postures and practices to reduce and support symptoms
  • Movement and stillness in āsana
  • How to place postures in intelligent sequences
  • Breath in āsana
  • Key concepts from the yoga sūtra to support this work

This weekend is open to anyone (beginners, practitioners and teachers alike) who would like to learn about and experience the therapeutic aspects of yoga.
